I have completed the table which shows the complete timeline of my journey with Deakin University. I am planning to do an internship by the end of my second year to gain real world experience. Other than that I will be doing part-time work at Hungry Jack’s or KFC to improve my communication skills and gaining experience. I am also deciding to join Deakin Gamer Society and Deakin Data Science Club next year where I can meet people sharing same interest as I and connect with them too.

I chose to connect with IBM and Google because they are offering many internships in the field of Business Analyst and many Deakin alumni’s are employed there. I also connected with Facebook, Target and Apple because they providing employment opportunities in the field of Business Analyst and the skills and career values required are those which I want to seek. I also started to follow Modern Analyst, Business Analyst Times and Techwell because they are providing regular updates on the community, career advice, free articles, webinars and training services which I believe will benefit me greatly in the future.

The skills where my strength lie are Adaptability, Attention to Detail and Self-Management. The result of the skills summary is quite correct as I quickly adapt to different environment and atmosphere providing detailed work. I can manage work- loads on my own without any difficulty. The skills which I need to improve upon are Project Management, Leadership and Research. I can improve these skills by taking part in various group projects as team member and learn. I must also improve my communications skills by taking part in debates and organize the information that I gathered so I can gain in-depth knowledge on my research topics.

My name is Haider and I am currently a first-year Bachelor of Information Technology student at Deakin University. My career aspirations would be to have a stable job security, a balanced home and work life, becoming an expert in my field and gaining more autonomy at work. Some of my potential career interest are Business Analyst and Analytics. The skills required in this career pathway are good verbal communication skills, being a good listener, time management, understanding the objective, presentation skills and writing skills.
